The holiday region Odenwald is situated between the Bergstrasse and the Neckar valley and offers its holidaymakers both culture and nature. Also the various brandies and beers should not be ignored. In the east of the Odenwald lies the fertile land. A lot of agriculture is done in this area. Characteristic for these areas are vine-covered slopes, as in the Main and Tauber valleys. The Bergstrasse is located between the Rhine Graben and the steep slopes of the Odenwald. One of the most romantic river valleys in the Odenwald holiday region is the Neckar valley. The Neckar River meanders its way through the southern hills of the Odenwald past small villages and castles. A popular excursion destination is Heidelberg. With its narrow alleys and ideal location on the Neckar, the town invites you to stroll and linger. The old town, which is a listed cultural monument, attracts visitors from all over the world every year. The Heidelberg Castle, former residence of the Palatine Wittelsbach, is today enthroned above the city as a showpiece.
