The holiday region Hessisches Bergland offers its visitors many forests, mountains and valleys and was once the place where the Brothers Grimm were inspired for their world-famous fairy tales. The Hessian Highlands is the largest forested low mountain range in Germany. It is located between the Rhenish Slate Mountains and the western edge of the Thuringian Basin. Stroll through the picturesque alleys or visit the historic town church. Anglers will find many beautiful spots in the Hessian Highlands that are ideal for fishing. A popular fishing spot is the Fuldatal. Here the rivers Eder, Schwalm and Fulda meet, which have large fish stocks. In the town Kassel you can visit various museums and exhibitions while strolling through the town.
