Vacation in Upper Swabia
The holiday region of Upper Swabia is located in the extreme southeast of Baden-Württemberg on the border to Bavaria. Located between the southern edge of the Swabian Alb, Lake Constance and the Lech River, the region offers numerous historic old towns and a varied natural environment. In Upper Swabia there are many imposing castles and palaces to admire, which were built in the Middle Ages. Active holidaymakers get their moneys worth here. You can explore the region on various cycling and hiking trails. The various theme cycle paths lead past many sights and are also suitable for children. A special feature of the region are the pile dwellings preserved in the moor as well as hunting camps and moor settlements. Four of the sites in the Federsee region are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Along the Swabian Baths Route you can bring body and soul into harmony. This association of nine towns is home to a total of seven spas. Here you can take advantage of health, wellness and medical offers and let your soul dangle. Hiking enthusiasts will find numerous premium hiking trails in Upper Swabia. On these you can experience the river valleys of the Danube, Schmiehe and Lauchert in secluded nature. On the Donau Felsen Läufe you can expect a wonderful view from high rocks over flowering valley meadows. On the trail of the pilgrims to St. James, the route from Ulm to Constance covers a total of 175 kilometres. Along the historic pilgrimage route, there are small chapels and churches to the left and right from time to time. There is also a small break along the way - stop off at one of the many monasteries and take a short break there. The Upper Swabian Baroque Road is one of the oldest holiday routes. On a total of 760 kilometres you can choose between four routes and collect your individual baroque experience
