Holiday in the Upper Palatinate Forest

From the "Hussenkrieg" in Neunburg vorm Wald to the Leuchtenberg Castle Festival and the open-air theatre in Parkstein there is a lot to discover. Especially in summer you can relax and switch off at the Oberpfälzer Seenland. Water sports like sailing, windsurfing or water skiing are also possible here.
Cycling in the Upper Palatinate Forest
For cyclists there are many possibilities to discover the region in the Upper Palatinate Forest. On former railway tracks and river cycle paths you will cross shady woodlands and idyllic villages. The Kemnath Carp Cycle Path is located in a volcanic landscape with over 400 ponds. It leads past Kötzersdorf, Beerhof, Immenreuth, Kulmain, Altensteinreuth, Schönreuth and back to Kemnath. On the way you will discover many rare animal and plant species and the "fantastic carp". The versatile holiday region around the Upper Palatinate Forest is characterized by its unique landscape with deep forests and shady valleys.
