Schönau is located in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, in the lower Odenwald, in a central location to Heidelberg (approx. 20 km) and Mannheim / Ludwigshafen (approx. 30 km). Eberbach, Sinsheim, Neckarsteinach and Dilsberg can also be reached quickly.

Hiking trails into the Neckar Valley and the Odenwald start right at the house. Schönau is an old monastery town with a monastery complex and chicken fautei. Supermarket (approx. 900 m), restaurants, doctors, pharmacies, etc. - everything is available.
